Emmie’s journey begins in Turkey, where she received her first bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy from Gazi University in Ankara. In 1977, she moved to California and continued her academic path, completing a second bachelor’s degree in International Relations at San Francisco State University in 1981, followed by a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1983.
Her professional life has been defined by entrepreneurship and service. Emmie has launched and led multiple ventures, including early childhood development programs, staffing services for early‑education professionals, and vocational teacher‑training initiatives. Since 2000, she has successfully operated her own home health care agency.
A lifelong passion eventually called her in a new direction - wine. In 2022, Emmie completed the Winemaking Certificate Program at the University of California, Davis, and she is currently pursuing her WSET Diploma through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
Today, Emmie brings her global perspective, academic rigor, and entrepreneurial spirit to Mission View Wines. She has assembled a team of seasoned, well‑traveled advisors with deep industry knowledge and strong international connections. Together, they deliver curated, wine‑centered travel experiences defined by exceptional taste, thoughtful detail, and a commitment to reflecting clients’ unique style and goals.
