A FUN EVENING WITH THE FRIENDS OF THE WINEMAKERS GUESTS
Thirty-five Californian wine aficionados assembled last Saturday for a comparative tasting of five Turkish and five local Californian wines. The event was organized for the members of the Friends of the Winemakers (FOW), a Los Gatos based organization, founded in 1975, with the stated aim of preserving the art and history of winemaking in the Santa Clara Valley.
The venue for the event was a Turkish restaurant in Sunnyvale – hence the title of the menu “Judgment of Sunnyvale”. The lighthearted, jovial competition was enjoyed with the accompaniment of Turkish “mezes”. The wines selected for the event were all from indigenous grapes from different wine regions of Turkey. It was the first time the guests had tasted Turkish wines, which made the event even more special.
